Hi: I'm trying to CPAN mod_perl-1.27.tar.gz. It's asking for path for ..apache/src. When I run locate apache, the results don't give me an obvious path to whatever file it's looking for.
I tried /usr/src/ but that didn't work. Any help appreciated.
The source for apache is in the source rpm, the standard apache rpm dosn't install any source. You probably don't want to do it that way anyhow, it involves alot of configuration to use with suse's apache setup, which is different from the standard apache setup. Unless you need the latest version of mod_perl ; just get the mod_perl.rpm from suse for 7.1, it's already setup for suse's apache. Just install it, and the next time you start apache, you will see it say " using mod_perl" when it starts up. ftp://ftp-linux.cc.gatech.edu/pub/linux/distributions/suse/suse/i386/7.1/suse/n2/mod_perl.rpm -- use Perl; #powerful programmable prestidigitation
