Be careful with upgrading to XF86 4.2, because there is a bug in the display of pseudo colors. Now, normally that should not be a problem, but if you have an 'old' application which uses pseudo color and wants to create it's own colormap, then you have a problem with 4.2.
We brought this bug to the attention of the X people, and they admitted it. But I don't know how long it will take for them to come up with a 4.3.....
Regards Harry I wonder if that's why the Netscape Directory Server admin console won't work when run as a client on my SuSE 8 box. I am pretty sure I am getting some kind of error saying it can't run with a 16 bit color depth. That stinks! It is just another reason I have to use an OS from the Ring Wraiths of Redmond. I don't recall trying Cigwin XF86 for this purpose. I only used X-Win32 IIRC. Thanks for the pointer. I'll investigate.
