Hi Chris, Under which version of SuSE did you create the filesystem on /hdb3 ? You may find it helpful to checkout the "reiserfsck" utility. Kind regards, Simon Chris Herrnberger wrote:
Greetings:
One little snag with a 're-install' of SuSE 8.0 and reiserfs.
HD's layout:
/dev/hda<------------new suse 8.0 install /dev/hdb /hdb1 /home1 (reiser.....backup data) /hdb3 /home2 (reiser....backup data) /hdb2 swap (redundant)
Here is the problem /dev/hdb is no longer mountable. Error code is cannot recognize fs when moounting from KDE Desktop or more specifically from mount all the standard errors.
So im thinking either something requirded by the reiser fs (new to reiser) is missing to read these partitions or something durring the install re: rewriting of file system occurred. The partitions were not formated by Yast2 rather identified as linux 83
Given the above data, is there any way that I can recover the data?
