I agree, ideally I would like that too. But, with so many versions SuSE, it is acceptable (well, at least me) if newer applications (especially those that are not critical) are sometime unavailable, especially for older version (just in my case, v7.2). Besides, if we compare with MS Windows world, will Microsoft support/provide, say Adobe Acrobat Reader, or other 3rd party applications, in their website? I doubt so. Those are 3rd party applications, and users has to get the setup.exe from adobe website (or other 3rd party website). Regards, Verdi
folks at SuSE devote their time to working on improving the distribution in other ways and ask me to figure out how to follow clear instructions off a software developer's web site. Let's give them a break and take on some work for ourselves! We just might learn something.
