Fellow SuSErs, I'm tearing my hair out with SuSE support #-| They've sent me an "update driver file" for a aacraid driver. I keep asking how do I use this file, "just put it in the floppy drive and boot the CD they say", they dont' seem to understand it's not obvious! I'm attempting to load SuSE Enterprise 7 and use an SuSE 8 aacraid driver linked against the 7 Enterprise kernel. But I can't make it work. I've dd if=/dev/zero of=/tmp/scsi-mod count=2200 bs=1k mkfs.minix /tmp/scsi-mod mount -oloop -tminix /tmp/scsi-mod /mnt cp aacraid-sles7.gz /mnt touch /mnt/SCSI umount /mnt gzip /tmp/scsi-mod mformat a: mcopy /tmp/scsi-mod.gz a: Then I put the floppy in the drive and boot from the Enterprise 7 CD. This is supposed to then "load" the update driver. Has anyone dones this? Am I doing something stupid? Am wasting my time trying to load a driver for Perc 3/Di on Dell 2650 with SuSE 7 Enterprise?
