Im having a problem with the Apache and mod_php4 packages from the 8.0 FTP installation. This might not be the best list to post this on but I was hoping someone else may have run into this problem after installing 8.0 with Apache and mod_php4 since it occurs, at least for me, when YaST2 completes the initial setup and starts scripts. When I run /etc/init.d/apache start I get an error message in the error log: PHP Fatal error: Unable to start session mm module in Unknown on line 0 The Debian mailing lists have a thread regarding this that referenced shared memory problems but the originating author there still could not get Apache working unless he uninstalled mod_php4. I confirmed that this is my situation also as, if I remove mod_php4, apache starts up fine. Since finding this out, I have uninstalled all of Apache and its mods and reinstalled them one at a time and when mod_php4 is installed is when Apache fails to start. The only other mods I am selecting from YaST are mod_ssl, mod_perl and mod_python. The version of mod_php4 is 4.1.0-121. I have experienced this problem on 2 different boxes running 8.0. If anyone has any info on this problem or can direct me to another source of information that would be of help please post a reply. Chris Goodnough
