I tried loading SuSe 8.0 Pro and was able to install the operating system 100%. The date for the driver (labeled as Redhat/Adaptec aacraid driver) was May 27, 2002.
How do I go about getting the drivers that work for 8.0 to work with 7ES ?
Simple: You have installation support for your SLES-7. This is clearly part of it. So just send our support an email (with your registration code please or you'll only get an email asking you for it but no answer)! After installation it's no problem since there's an 2.4.18 based update kernel on the maintenance web that has that more current driver, so for installation support will have to provide a boot floppy with that kernel or tell you how to make one (should be easy but I haven't done such a thing for years).
