My original problem was both connected with a CUPS installation and PDF files that wouldn't open. I believe that the problem started when I uninstalled the standard SuSE 7.3 Pro CUPS installation as recomended in the database before installing a new CUPS version. At any rate, when I tried to ./configure Gimp Print, I started getting error messages that it wouldn't configure properly. All were related to the creation of documentation files. docbktls and tetex proved to be the major packages involved. I believe that PDF2HTML was also invovled. Thanks to all that helped me solve this. Now if only someone would help me to get my Trash directory problem sorted out (see Error message with KDE 2.2.1 trash (Help)). ;-) Here is the original posting: I am having a problem when clicking on PDF files - that they no longer will open after I removed the SuSE 7.3 Pro's version of CUPS. When I try to ./configure gimp-print I get the following error message: configure: WARNING: PDF documentation cannot be regenerated! checking for db2ps... no configure: WARNING: PostScript user's guide cannot be regenerated! checking for db2html... no I assume that these two files/libs or whatever they are (db2ps and db2html) are somehow related to CUPS. The important issue is how do I get these two thingys back on my SuSE 7.3 Pro install? Cheers, Brian
