Hello all! I've been using 8.0 since it came out, installed as an upgrade from 7.3. I used the DVD for the install source. I've told the machine it's supposed to use install source CDROM, but it's not able to figure out that my system doesn't use hdc or hdd for cdrom, but it's sr0 from scsi-host-emulation. :^/ So, I then set it up to use harddisk installation source, and just reference /cdrom ;) Well, here's the real problem. I wanted to change a couple of packages from CUPS to LPRNG to test somethings. When I went into the package manager, it said I had a conflict with nfs-server and nfs-utils. I had seen this before, but never cared about it. This time I thought how about running the system correctly? So I opted to remove server. When it went to install LPRNG, it said the package couldn't be found, but it pointed right at it in the log!? :( I tried to manually install it from the CLI and it gives me an error. I've tried remount the drive and still the same problems. I looked the disk over to make sure it's not scratched or smudged, and it's clean. I tried several other packages to install, and it still gives me the same error: package not found. :( Upon rpm -qp <package> to some (only some of them worked) I got responses from the package for info. But the rest said: input/output error (5) query of <package> failed I'm not mad, just really confused. What's going on? TIA Travis
