Silly me. I found the template file in /var/lib/apsfilter/templates and modified it there. I didn't realize that there was a config file in /etc too. I tested it and it works. Thanks again Steve. I have Apsfilter installed, LPRng and Ghostscript server. I am not running X on this machine. The printer is working fine with normal paper.
I need to use this DOT matrix printer as a printer for tractor fed mailing labels. The page length should be 5 lines and the page width is 32 characters. I never want it to send a form feed, or I would like the form feed to be sent as a carriage return producing a new blank line to cross
separation between labels. I?ll need to test both to see which produces
pinwriter. the the
best results.
I have tried modifying /etc/printcap and adding the :sf option. If I run checkpc -f I get a message that states:
?Warning - raw: sf (Suppress form feeds) is ignored. Use ?ff_separator? if you want FF between job files?
I have been able to print a test label but I always get the form feed after the print job ends, pushing out another dozen or so blank labels. I?m not sure if /var/lib/apsfilter/apsfilter needs to be modified or if I need to create a new filter at this point.
Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi Chris if you look in /etc you should find a file called apsfilterrc.<name of printer> which will contain a line #PRINT_RAW_SUPPRESS_FORMFEED="yes" if you remove the hash at the begining and restart lpd, not sure if restarting is actually necessary or not. There shouldn't be any more formfeeds. regards Steve -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com
