Sorry for the silly question ,but: What does mk_initrd? I was compiled kernels before with: make config dep clean bzImage modules modules_install, cp ./arch/i386/boot/bzImage /boot/Kernel_Name vi /etc/lilo.conf lilo Done. And it works fine but there are many theads that shows the use of mk_initrd Thank you, Martin. -----Original Message----- From: Ron Cordell [mailto:roncordell@attbi.com] Sent: Friday, May 24, 2002 9:39 AM To: harrycg@earthlink.net; Suse User Group Subject: Re: [SLE] 2.4.16 RPM upgrade seems to have failed. Also, in the /boot folder, I see a vmlinuz.suse file, dated 4/10/2002. The RPM is dated 4/22/2002.
Is this my new kernel ? I can manually edit lilo.conf if necessary.

Did you remember to run mk_initrd after installing the new kernel, and before running lilo? -- 8:38am up 3 days, 22:22, 1 user, load average: 0.10, 0.06, 0.02 -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com
