I am using SuSE 7.3, and i can't figure out where to turn on ftp. i will only be using it in an internal home network, so firewalling isn't that big of a problem. can it be done via YaST2?
thanks, Jason
Hi Jason, 1. first check which ftp server you installed (proftp, vsftp, ftpd or wuftpd). 2. Make sure inetd is configured to start automatically at boot. 3. Then edit /etc/inetd.conf. There you'll find several entries for the different ftp servers that you can uncomment. Pick the entry that matches the ftp server you have installed and uncomment it. 4. Now restart inetd You can all do this in Yast2. Just wade through the menues and i'm sure you'll find it :-) Cheers, Marcel
