From what I can see in the source (*shudder*, where did the SuSE guys learn to program?) it looks like kinternet works for all providers that accept /AutoPPP/. In other words those providers that don't give a normal unix login prompt.
The "dummy" name and password is hardcoded in the source, the idea being that pppd handles the authentication. Except, of course, if there really is a login prompt it never gets that far. regards Anders PS. /etc/wvdial.conf is not the place where the username/password is stored. It is stored in /etc/sysconfig/network/providers in the proper file for your provider
