I am wondering if I have to have a plugin or a daemon running to have alarms work in kde. I set alarms in Evolution, KOrganizer, et. al. and then the time comes I get a popup but no sound. My sound card works fine but I can't get any .wav files to play for alarms.

----------------------------- John, I had this problem with KOrganizer in 7.2 & 7.3, but I tried it Tuesday to remind me of the LinuxShow and the thing scared me out of my chair when it popped up and blared out the sound file I had chosen!! :o)
Guess they got it fixed for KDE3, mine is working now!

Yea, but I'm running kde3...help. =======================
John, I am confused now. You are running KDE3 and the associated programs and it still doesn't work? If you upgraded to KDE3 and upgraded to kdepim3 which contains korganizer, then it should work ok, if your other sound works normally. If you have just updated to KDE3 without updating to the new kdepim3, you are likely to have the same problem. If you meant that you have "not" updated to KDE3 yet, then it probably won't work as I was never able to get it to while using KDE2 programs.
