Hi everyone, I was wondering if it is possible to call more then one application in one terminal / shell without killing the previous application? And if it is possible how can i call them? ie i want to call; opera, kppp, red-carpet etc. without oppening additional terminals.

You can execute an X application from the shell and get the prompt back. For example: $ opera & $ kppp & $ red-carpet & $ This is described as "executing the program in the background". If you forget to use the ampersand symbol (&), do this: $ opera Control - Z $ bg $ and the process is sent to the background. Test it, it's usefull. -- Rafael
