You can try to increasing the buffer size. I thinks it's in
Control Center -> <something> -> Sound. See if it's got better.

I have got myself a new pc, siemens scaleo 1.4 ghz, and I have put my old linux disk in it. I am now having trouble with booting, it will check my disk on booting, but I always logging out with the logg out button.
But the sound is terreble, my startup sound in kde takes about 1 min. to finish, and when I play mp3, it is just like ecko, it repeat a line several times befor it goes on. The souncard is WIA AC'97 Enchanced Audio Controller. (It is ok with Windoz)
