Booting with "safe settings" did the trick.
It is installing right now! The machine is
only a 200MHz, so this will take a LONG time,
but I'll finally have a linux box in my office!

I managed to get my hands on a second machine at
work and wanted to install 7.3. When its trying to boot
from either the floppy or CD I get the following message:
<0>Kernel panic: Attempted to kill the idle task!
In idle task - not syncing
It stops there and there is no further response. Can
anyone tell me where to go from here?
