Maybe he has Windows XP, which is what I have here installed in an NTFS partition. (Windows XP Home Ed.) LILO works fine in the MBR for me, and Partition Magic 7 shrunk my NTFS partition without a problem. I needed to add the line "lba32" to my /etc/lilo.conf though because of Linux being installed in the last partition of a large hard drive. -- It's not that I'm afraid to die.
