I have been watching this thread with a lot of attention, since it seemed to provide a solution for my problem: I have a Canon Powershot S20, and have only been able to use it in Linux with Gphoto over a serial connection (sooooo slow!). I have tried the usb-storage modules (the other usb modules are loaded since I use a USB adsl modem).
