I finally got my drives working. (Like anyone cares). Here's my problem now....I had them (both drives) working and I could click on the desktop icons and access the drives, but I was not able to access the drives under CDToast or KonCD. So I made the scsi-ide connection and now they both appear as a scsi device and work with my burning programs, but now they won't mount from my desktop, even when I change the path (if the path is right.../dev/hdb /media/cdrecorder). Ugggghhhh! Here's some info (sorry about the quantity, but better than being asked for it later): FSTAB /dev/hdc /media/cdrom auto ro,noauto,user,exec 0 0 /dev/hdb /media/cdrecorder auto ro,noauto,user,exec 0 0 BOOT.LOCAL # . /etc/rc.config # # Here you should add things, that should happen directly after booting # before we're going to the first run level. modprobe ide-scsi /sbin/insmod parport /sbin/insmod parport_pc io=0x278, irq=5 /sbin/insmod ppa LILO #restricted append="hdb=ide-scsi hdc=ide-scsi" boot=/dev/hda #compact # faster, but won't work on all systems. lba32 vga=normal message=/boot/message menu-scheme=Wg:kw:Wg:Wg read-only prompt timeout=80 # End LILO global Section CAT /PROC/SCSI/SCSI Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00 Vendor: SONY Model: CD-RW CRX175A1 Rev: 5YS2 Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 01 Lun: 00 Vendor: MATSHITA Model: CD-ROM CR-586 Rev: KS14 Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02 LS -AL CDROM CDRECORDER lrwxrwxrwx 1 tom root 9 Feb 18 21:33 cdrecorder -> /dev/scd0 lrwxrwxrwx 1 tom root 9 Feb 18 21:33 cdrom -> /dev/scd1 CDRECORD -SCANBUS scsibus0: 0,0,0 0) 'SONY ' 'CD-RW CRX175A1 ' '5YS2' Removable CD-ROM 0,1,0 1) 'MATSHITA' 'CD-ROM CR-586 ' 'KS14' Removable CD-ROM IDE-SCSI MOD IS LOADED CAT /PROC/SYS/DEV/CDROM/INFO linux:/home/tom # cat /proc/sys/dev/cdrom/info CD-ROM information, Id: cdrom.c 3.12 2000/10/18 drive name: sr1 sr0 drive speed: 32 40 drive # of slots: 1 1 Can close tray: 1 1 Can open tray: 1 1 Can lock tray: 1 1 Can change speed: 1 1 Can select disk: 0 0 Can read multisession: 1 1 Can read MCN: 1 1 Reports media changed: 1 1 Can play audio: 1 1 Can write CD-R: 0 1 Can write CD-RW: 0 1 Can read DVD: 0 0 Can write DVD-R: 0 0 Can write DVD-RAM: 0 0 !!!!THAT'S IT!!!!
