Using sane? (xsane) hp.conf needs configuration. Hmmm see hpoj-driver manuals (hp-officejet.rpm installed?) . By default all scanners are disabled on /etc/sane.d/dll.conf So killl one or several #s. Sane on SuSe <7.2 needs recompiling (with ptal).
