Is there a version of SuSE Linux which comes with RPM version 4.0? Or, can I "get there" easily and safely from some version of SuSE Linux? My application is currently running under SuSE 7.1. It would take me varying degrees of "pain" to migrate to 7.2 or 7.3 but that can be done if necessary. If RPM 4.0 comes with 7.2 or 7.3 that would be wonderful. Otherwise, if there is a reasonable path to RPM 4.0 from SuSE 7.x (through various RPM installs etc) that would be almost as good. The reason I want to run RPM 4.0 is this: I want to use the GnuPG compatibility of RPM 4.x for signing / verifying packages. RPM 3.x only supports PGP, which requires a license ($) on every machine where the RPM will be installed. Also, if I understand correctly, there will be migration issues if I start using PGP and later migrate to the (free) GnuPG. Thank you your help.
