There is no formal announcement nor any description on what these updates are for. YOU does not show it as an available update.
YOU does not update kernels and there's really no reason to announce it since it's not a security update.
Are they security updates? Is there a reason I should choose 2.4.10 over 2.4.16? etc.
It's more stable in a lot of people's opinion, but if 2.4.10 is working for you there's no reason to update.
If someone has seen some description of these packages or announcement, I would appreciated it.
The changelog is contained in the package and can be viewed with rpm -q -p --changelog As always, k_deflt is the standard kernel built for Pentium or higher, k_smp is the same but smp, k_i386 is built for a 386, etc. -- -ckm
