SCSI, IMO, is just _simpler_. Of course, it's also more expensive, but prices are dropping. SCSI drives that cost 600USD just a year and half ago are now in the 100USD-200USD.
I prefer SCSI disks as far as performance is concerned and I agree about the price for small capacity disks. But if you need 120 GB disks or more on your desktop then SCSI disks are very expensive. SCSI disk manufacturers target the server market and prices there have always been higher than in the desktop arena. I don't think it will change in the near future.
