Hi
Just do what I'm used to do with local services...
I e-mail them with reference to tens of cities here in Finland, that has chosen Linux as their primary OS, along with reference to other covenement organisations that uses Linux, and then ask them:
Do You really want to ignore this amount of official sites and all other sites?
That usually does the trick.. If it doesn't, they are not worth the effort. There is always a lot of luser-organisations, that ignores other than M$, but believe me, they are not long-time business, and should be avoided.
The example of AOL should persuade ISP's that locking out linux is not sufficient to make Bill Gates happy. However, they don't want to pay support personnel to be experts in anything, let alone linux, which might be only 5% of their market in the USA. The fact that major financial institutions like MSDW and PWC, and all automotive and aerospace organizations, are relying on linux, has no meaning to ISP's dealing in the consumer market. Mindspring had linux configuration information on their site until Earthlink closed down those web pages, but they support Win2K only at the basic level, and support for Netscape on linux is no different from support for Netscape on Windows. Don't let on that you know what OS you are running; just say Netscape if they insist on an answer.
