What is the recomended GUI web development package for linux?
Quanta and Bluefish are html editors, but they are not "GUI" (or more correctly, "WYSIWYG") by any means. Linux has a few WYSIWYG web development programs, but none are as good as Dreamweaver (unfortunately). I expect this to change. In the meantime, the few options you have include: StarOffice Mozilla Composer Netscape Composer Amaya I've tried all of the above, and they will at least allow you to design a basic web page. Anything designed in Amaya should work with any browser, since Amaya is the standard bearer of the World Wide Web Consortium, but I don't find Amaya to be very elegant. I haven't yet tried IBM Homepage Builder for Linux. Is it good? - Robert Storey
