I should make a bitmap of characters with 32 x 16 pixel of each character, of different fonts and that in 2 byte characters or unicode.
There are many ways. If you don't want to do it by hand but use already existing PostScript or TrueType fonts, then you can create .eps files, each containing a single letter (use 2:1 ratio for the bounding box), and then convert them into bitmaps by $ convert -geometry 16x32! chr064.eps chr064.bmp There are many tools that can generate .eps files via scripts. (I use CERN's ROOT http://root.cern.ch/ but it's an overkill for this task.) Also note it's possible to use scripts in Gimp. -- Alexandr.Malusek@imv.liu.se
