whenever I run SuSEconfig, I get this error: ... /sbin/ldconfig: /usr/lib/libexpat.so.1 is not a symbolic link Is this a problem? What 's wrong? I see at other places some problems, and I start to think about a relation.
No, this is a common question. It was just an oversight when Suse made the distro. Just make it a symbolic link, if you want to end the error. Most of us just live with it.
That's not very nice from SuSE ;-) , there is already so much headache for Linux-newbies like me to get everything to work (printing, mail, scanning,...), every error message like this one could be important - or not, and we do not know (yet). Therefor I really appreciate your explanation, and all the others which I find on this list. If it works, and I don't know why, I did not learn anything, and the next error would see me worrying again. Happy new year! Matt
