I have even problems with the cdrecord commands. Man pages do not seem to give you to much help if you need them.
Man pages, in general, describe a command syntax and its arguments. They are not designed to teach the user how to use the command. Have a look at the "CD-Writing HOWTO" instead (it's in the SuSE Help).
I used to no avail cdrecord /dev/scd0 blank=all and also disc but I only get the --help information.
The right syntax is # cdrecord -v dev=0,0,0 speed=2 blank=fast or # cdrecord -v -force dev=0,0,0 speed=2 blank=all The meaning of the -force option is described in the man page: : Force to continue on some errors. This option currently implements : some tricks that will allow you to blank bad CD-RW disks. The right dev=x,x,x number is listed by "cdrecord -scanbus".
And if I use the cdrecord command for writing, is there a posibility to dump the results in a text file?
It's a bit difficult to understand what you mean here. -- Alexandr.Malusek@imv.liu.se
