I've seen a lot of posts here about changing the K and SuSE menus. The way I get around this problem is to create a quickbrowser button on the panel (right click on panel | add | quickbrowser) and point it a dir in my user directory that has the icons I want. The nice thing about this is that it easily transports to your next upgrade of KDE or SuSE. No messing with customizing the menu each time. Just add the quickbrowser, point to your user directory and off you go. Just a suggestion. Keith --- Cleary_Mike@emc.com wrote:
I just saw the other postings on the list about the menu /submenu stuff, and I will look more closely at this. However, I have installed a couple of editors, and as root, I added these to the menu which starts when you click on 'K' under the category "Editors". I did this w/ kmenuedit. As root, this worked fine. Doing the same thing as a user does not work. I have not checked in ~/.xsession-errors, but I will do so...
Thanks,
