I maintain an rsync'ed copy of SuSE's distribution of 7.1 on my file server. It comes ftp-linux.cc.gatech.edu::suse/suse/i386/7.1/ And I drop it into my local directory: /pub/software/linux/SuSE/7.1/ I also maintain a copy of the 7.1 update. It comes from ftp-linux.cc.gatech.edu::suse/suse/i386/update/7.1/ And I drop it into my local directory: /pub/software/linux/SuSE/7.1_update/ What I'd _like_ is a way to tell YaST: Your installation medium is the update directory rather than the main directory. Now tell me what's new/different, compared against what I have installed of the 7.1 base installation. I tried telling yast to Set the directory to the 7.1_update directory: Installation settings Select installation medium Installation from a reachable directory /pub/software/linux/SuSE/7.1_update I got this error message: ERROR: COULD NOT FIND SOURCE DIRECTORY Could not find the installation directory. Please enter an existing directory. So how do I effectively use the 7.1 update directory with YaST so I can easily make the updates that SuSE has released since 7.1 was released? Do I have to manually use rpm to update each of the packages by hand? -- Argentium G. Tiger (ag42tiger@kc42.rr.com) "I sense much XP in you. XP leads to Activation. Activation compromises privacy.
