-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Understand. Thank you. On another topic, my Alps MD5000 still doesn't work. I think there's a problem with the Cups driver. And Yast2 printer setup is crippled. One question I've been getting conflicting answeres on is, must I install Ghostscript with Cups? I've tried all versions of GS, including Mandrake's and Suse's 6.51. Docs say Cups comes with its own (minimal) GS, and the Alps driver is in setup. Printer just sits there like a lump. Winduhs prints fine on the same hardware, and when I assign the Epson driver the printer tries to go, but is messed up. I presently have installed: cups cups-client cups-devel cups-drivers cups-libs qtcups Any advice anyone? Fairly anxious for this. On Tuesday 11 December 2001 15:35, you wrote:

Well, the issue wasn't with KDE 2.2.2 it was with QT 2.3.2 which KDE uses. It's been fixed. I have had absolutely no issues with it since the updated QT package was posted about a week ago.
As far as the kernel goes. I'm using these files from Hubert Mantel's directory on the ftp server and I have had EXTREMELY good luck with the 2.4.16 kernel. The VM usage is correct and I haven't seen any weird stuff at all. :)
Go here:
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/people/mantel/next/RPM
Get these:
k_deflt-2.4.16-14.i386.rpm kernel-source-2.4.16.SuSE-15.i386.rpm modutils.rpm
Remember these are Huberts development kernels..so they aren't supported by SuSE the company. Myself and many others use Huberts kernels and 99% of the time have very good luck with them. But it is a "use at your own risk" type of thing...and I don't say that to scare you. I just want to you to know that if something gets screwed up in your install..you can't have my first born child as payment ;)
