I had this problem on an earlier version of xchat. I wanted python script support. Here's what I did. 1. I went and downloaded the debian tar.gz binary version. (Not the RPM version you'll have to search a little for it) 2. I did a which xchat and found the original installed xchat. (finding location) 3. I copied xchat to xchat180 in the (backing it up in the original directory) 4. I then untared the debian version. (in a temp directory) 5. I copied the binary to the location of the old xchat. ( you could use a different name to keep track or just use 'xchat') both versions now run fine If I want xchat180 I type xchat180, if 182 I type xchat182, 185, xchat185, etc. I am not sure about the current version of xchat so you might want to look in the binaries sub directories for any new files that may have been added. If so, then just copy them manually. On Monday 26 November 2001 12:38 pm, you wrote:

It's when compiling python support in, it breaks.
