Hello Chaps ! At last I again configured my fax -- I don't really know how, reading the book, faxsetup changing some config files, well what exactly got the positive effect, I don't know....--- Nevertheless, could somebody remind me where the sent / received fax are logged, viewable and printable after sending/receiving ? That's a little bit ennoying : You clean the partition, reload, and everytime the configuration works more or less but, in fact never equal like the time b4,... You remember ? B4 I got the resolv.conf problem, (due to firewall config.trial), everything worked smoothly, websurfing, faxing, easy StarOffice 6.0 setup and work, all the apps working fine. Now, I cannot have : - S.O.6.0 starting properly (installed in /opt/). to start as root, whether i do it from the filemanager and it works, if I do it from an icon, the apps link has to be started with the console, then I have to kill the console (it doesn't close otherwise) and then so6.0 starts. If if set the applink without the console, the so6.0 logo comes on and stays there, blocking the protion of screen it covers. Ihave to quit kde and come back. from user, I simply cannot setup . (b4 all that s...., it worked properly) - while acrobat reader works properly, kGhostview starts and shows the number of pages but no image (.pdf). - one app, i never (even b4) cd start it as an icon applink without the console (but then it runs normally) is wordperfect8. Of course clicking in the filemanager, it starts. That's it for now. (To say the truth, sometimes, to respire a little bit, i go bag to my old lovely w3.11 for workgroups, a little bit slower on internet, but so stable and surpriseless....) ---- Another thing : the bloody ADSL suppliers in Spain have wonderfull offers on the market : 39euros /month 24/24hrs connected, no connection fee, ADSL 3COM modem free of charge, etc,... Nevertheless, 3COM is not linux compatible (while the Alcatel external USB ADSL modem i s, for example) and they even refuse to make a connection if You don't have W98 on board as a minimum. the web pages are : http://www.telefonica.es http://www.ya.com http://www.wanadoo.es I suggest we coordinate an EMail campaign to all of them. Please advise who is interested, i'll prepare atext in spanish with the correct email directions and from whole the world they would receive those emails. Theremore, thereafter, if we get no reaction, we (those who are resident in the European Community) could send, each one of us, a letter to the european commission, with our claim for the monopolistic policy of those companies. How do You see it ? BRgds Jacek
