Gary, Change the source code so as LINUX_VERSION_CODE is 2.4.4-4GB and recompile. This is the only way I know of to fix this. A better fix is changing the code so as you can use the compiler to define what version of the kernel you are using. Austin On Sun, Nov 18, 2001 at 08:50:59AM -0500, Gary Moore wrote:
I've built and installed the Cisco vipclient kernel mod. on 7.2. However, whenever I try to load it I get this:
./vpnclient_init start ./vpnclient_init: .: /etc/rc.d/init.d/functions: is a directory Starting vpnclient: /lib/modules/2.4.4-4GB/CiscoVPN/cisco_ipsec: kernel-module version mismatch /lib/modules/2.4.4-4GB/CiscoVPN/cisco_ipsec was compiled for kernel version 2.4.4 while this kernel is version 2.4.4-4GB. Failed (insmod)
I've tried insmod -f to no avail. Apparently the Cisco build uses LINUX_VERSION_CODE defined from a kernel header as 2.4.4. Whereas uname -r gives 2.4.4-4GB. How can I convince insmod that it does have the correct version?
As soon as this is running I'll be Microsoft free vis a vis my employer. ;-) TIA, Gary
