Bob,
I get this message also due to my /boot and / being reiserfs. Is yours? If so, I get my lilo correct by issuing lilo -b /dev/hd? where hd? is the partition that contains yor /boot and /. For example mine is located on /dev/hda7 and I issue: lilo -b /dev/hda7. I am not a lilo guru nor a linux guru, but this works for me in the above situation.
Keith and David,
Thank you both for your input. Solved the problem by doing what Keith suggested. Had to point the command to /dev/hdb1 Strange to me though, as I am running ext2 and never had to be specific like that when I was runnning RH.
Anyway, Thanks again to both of you.

This is the same as specifying in lilo.conf boot = /dev/hdb1 with the exception that if you forget to add it to the command line, it won't boot....I suggest you put it in lilo.conf. David A. Riggs -- 3:44am up 2 days, 18 min, 1 user, load average: 0.02, 0.05, 0.00
