--- Oswaldo Castro
Please forgive me but I am new to Linux and I need some help to understand some concepts.
This is something I've wondered about myself, not having much experience with disk arrays and practically zero experience with logical volumes. As *I* understand it (PLEASE correct me): - You'd create the array at the hardware level (R5), - configure your LVM-capable disk chunks, (pvcreate?) then - set up the chunks into file systems and mount points. (pvadd/fstab?) Ideally, you'd set up only what you need; like if you needed 12GB of storage for a given filesystem, but had 30GB available, configure 14 or so initially, leaving the other 16GB to add to filesystems and move around as needed. ===== -- -=|JP|=- Hit me! - http://www.xanga.com/cowboydren/ Jon Pennington | Debian 2.3 -o) cowboydren @ yahoo . com | Auto Enthusiast /\\ Kansas City, MO, USA | ICQ UIN 69 67 29 31 _\_V __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
