Does anyone know what the difference is between the /boot/vmlinuz and /boot/vmlinuz.suse kernel images and their respective lilo entries? Just curious . . .
AFAIK, I believe the suse kernal is there in case you make a mess of your "linux" kernel. I have had to boot with it before and it bailed me out.
Yes indeed, you should leave it alone and keep an entry for it in your lilo.conf, it will save your bacon one day. Likewise don't mess with the /lib/modules/'version'-GB, or the initrd.suse. -- Regards Cliff
