You can create RPMs or debs or whatever, but you must distribute the pristine source according to DJB's license. We'd love to distribute qmail and ezmlm but in the case of a security problem we would have trouble providing patches.
Exactly. Not to mention if we just wanted to install it somewhere else than where he hardcoded it to be. That would be a patch, hence we would not be able to distribute.
