Russ, QMail doesn't allow rpm distributions for the most part. Also, part of the fun of any Linux system, to me anyways, is getting the source files and building them from scratch. Nothing makes learning easier then controlling the entire process of getting something on your system. Obviously, you understand that QMail is the far better choice for a mail server - why not take the time to install it the way it was meant to be install - from scratch! The following document is what I used as a guide for my QMail installation http://www.dulug.duke.edu/~icon/qvcs-guide/ Hope this helps you get rid of sendmail's hassles John W Higgins john@wishdev.com -----Original Message----- From: Russ Chadwick [mailto:chadwickr@hotmail.com] Sent: Monday, October 29, 2001 3:49 PM To: suse-linux-e@suse.com Subject: [SLE] Sendmail appears to be retarded PHP didn't seem to be sending mail so I tried typing in sendmail at the command line, here's what I get: linux:~ # /usr/sbin/sendmail Segmentation fault linux:~ # /usr/lib/sendmail Segmentation fault Thats the default Suse 7.2 sendmail, I removed and added the original 7.2 sendmail, and I rpm updated to the one on ftp.suse.com and have the same error. Any suggestions are appreciated BTW: Why the fuck doesn't suse distribute a sendmail alternative. 7 CDs in suse pro and I can't get a qmail rpm?
