Hi Brian,
I have a zoom 2925 on this computer which runs 7.1. I spent hours and hours recompiling the kernel and using an ltmodem kit. It works now, but I would also encourage you buy another modem. I think that zoom offers a 2920 model that is *supposed* to be compatible, but i wouldn't swear to it.
HTH,
Dallam

Hey,
Have any of you had any luck with installing an internal modem on SuSE 7.2
I have wvdial set up.
SuSE did not recognize my modem but in dmesg I have ttyS00 irq 4 and
ttyS01 irq 3
I figure one is my sound card and the other is the modem.
I linked /dev/modem to ttyS0 and ttyS1 and wvdial will send the init
strings to the device in either case but then I get a modem not
responding message.
Help please.
Brian D.
