Hello SuSE'rs I recently received a HP Omnibook XE2 laptop from work (I've never used a laptop before...:-) and of course I installed SuSE (7.2) on it. Installation was flawless...:-) Now I want it to communicate with my stationary which already got a IRmate 210 (connectet to the ttyS0 port), and the lapgot got a built-in IrDA. I've installed the IrDA packages and configured according to the README's and the Manual. Running irdadump gives me this on both of the boxes: --- 08:51:39.979554 xid:cmd c5d56207 > ffffffff S=6 s=0 (14) 08:51:40.069554 xid:cmd c5d56207 > ffffffff S=6 s=1 (14) 08:51:40.159554 xid:cmd c5d56207 > ffffffff S=6 s=2 (14) 08:51:40.249554 xid:cmd c5d56207 > ffffffff S=6 s=3 (14) 08:51:40.339554 xid:cmd c5d56207 > ffffffff S=6 s=4 (14) 08:51:40.429554 xid:cmd c5d56207 > ffffffff S=6 s=5 (14) 08:51:40.519554 xid:cmd c5d56207 > ffffffff S=6 s=* linux hint=0400 [ Computer ] (21) --- and the signal lamp on the IRmate thing is blinking, so I assume they are working OK. My problem is that I haven't got a clue how to go further, how for example do I send files between them? Does it work somewhat similar to networking? Is there a special program for this (GUI?)? Can I use my stationary's ADSL connection from the laptop through this connection? Would it be better to install a network card into the laptop to connect between the two? Thank's in advance.
