finger reports me about two connections which were the hidden ones. Two users forgot to type exit to logout, so my PC is still thinking they are there. It's nothing to worry about, but how can I restore the correct information and kill the hidden users who are not really there? There is no process attached to their shell.

Hi, Since there is no process attached to the shell, you'll have to do what I suggested earlier, and delete the two files that holds who is (should) be logged in. /var/utmp /var/wtmp Regards, Thomas Adam the
