Dear SuSEanitas,
I'm thinking of sending a request to SuSE's feedback about adding the often used Numeric extensions (NumPy), wxPython (wxWindows Python bindings) and PyQT (Qt Python bindings) to the python rpm (or separate optional rpm's) for SuSE 7.3 (I'm now using 6.3 and they are in there :-( ), to which we plan to upgrade when 7.3 comes out (October?!). I'd like to hear on any thoughts or experiences on this! URLs:

I'm going to have to jump in and support this request as well. I've had to install all of these things myself (I couldn't get RPM to package up NumPy, though) and they really are very popular modules, especially wxPython. I've been obsessed with PyQt the most lately, though. Qt Designer + pyuic is very powerful, indeed. It's much better than Glade. Oh, I'll also have to vote for the addition of the extremely useful XMLRPC module: http://www.pythonware.com/downloads/index.htm#xmlrpc I had to create my own RPM for that one as well. -- James Oakley Engineering - SolutionInc Ltd. joakley@solutioninc.com http://www.solutioninc.com
