Hello, I am running a dual-boot system with win2k and SuSe 7.2. I want to additionally run SuSE as a guest under VMware running on win2k. The problem with doing this is maintaining the two different sets of configurations files needed for booting normally or under VMWare. VMWare takes the first step and provides a script to switch versions of modules.conf and the X server and config, but that is not enough. To configure SuSE as a guest I need to do a few things using yast2 etc and thus SuSEconfig, but that causes changes that affect both normal boot and running as a guest. There must be someway to provide complete isolation of the configuration files for running a normal boot or as a guest, so that I can run yast2 etc in either config and only affect that config. Naturally this would mean that some things would have to be configured twice (once in each mode) but I can live with that. I've searched for any additional info that I can find, but without any luck. Has anyone already done this? Can anyone point me to info that would help? I didn't want to have to become quite such an expert on Linux configuration :-) Many thanks, David
