I think you misread. I don't have problems with aic7xxx, therefore I
donot use aic7xxx_old. The other users have problems, but I don't. I
don't know why it works with my system. Nothing spectaculor, just
plain old SuSE 7.2 personal , but w/ 2.4.7-4GB kernel.
Again, aic7xxx works for me,
