What constitutes an "authorized user" on this server ?
I wish I knew. SuSE employees? Beta testers?
Very simple: you have been given a user code and password by SuSE. :-) May I suggest the following: write a decent bug report with relevant info so that it is actually useful, and email it to feedback@suse.de. This is the email address given in the packager field of every single rpm. If you can supply a solution, do it. So far, I have always heard back, and several of the fixes I have suggested have made it into the distribution. Needless to say, don't bother sending email like "X doesn't work and it's all a load of crap". Nobody is gonna read that, and if you expect a response to that, keep waiting. If the emails you send have any merit, and demonstrate that you can write a useful bug report and can distinguish between a bug and an error located somewhere between keyboard and chair, you might just be lucky and SuSE offers you access to their bugtracking system. Personally I wouldn't want to see SuSE spend a lot of staff time on daling with non issues, but that is SuSE's decision. So stop whinging and make the best of it, by working on that bug report. In short: 1) stop whinging 2) get your bum up 2) email a useful(!) bug report to feedback@suse.de 3) if you can't get this far, AT LEAST SHUT UP 4) try to be constructive 5) keeping on moaning that the general public doesn't have access to SuSE's bugtracking system does not help with the improvement of SuSE linux 6) stop whinging Volker (Perhaps SuSE should put this as FAQ on their web site?)
