Hi, What graphics card are you using. It is possible that the windows install changed some hw settings for it. As an example, I can mention that when I enabled AGP fast write for my nvidia card, it failed to start, and when I changed the setting back, it worked again. So if you have a graphics card with its own BIOS that might be the place to search for what results your computer's eXPerience has meant. regards Anders On Wednesday 19 September 2001 20.17, Computer Books For Less wrote:
Hi,
I decided to try Win XP last night on my machine, the one running SuSE 7.2. Well I formatted my HDD (SuSE is on another HDD) and installed, everything on the XP side went fine, but as waited for X to start it failed. I seem at this point that is all the problems I'm having.
Has anyone got an idea what might have happened? I'm not too worried yet I just plan to re-install X and hope that solves the problem.
Really I figured that if SuSE was on a separated HDD it would be safe from the evil windows, guessed wrong. Guess I should have unplugged the IDE cable just to be sure.
