I have had problems with the SuSE help system on my 7.2 installation for a long time. When I go to contents and click on one of the icons (which are broken) I get an error "There appears to be a configuration error. You have associated konqueror with text/html, but it can't handle this file type." I get this on at least two of my setups.
I really wish SuSE had a bug tracking system.
What makes you think it's a bug? All works with my system and I see no one else complaining. You say that the icons are "broken" and the program reports a "configuration error". Maybe it's not a bug. Maybe you've mis-configured something.
I agree that it is probably not a "bug", but it is a problem with others. I too have the problem as I have seen others mention it as well and we haven't been able to come up with an answer yet. I checked my configuration of Konq, which shows it able to do html, but I get the same error in SuSE help center. Otherwise, Konq does html just fine using it as a browser. What do you think the problem is?
1. Have you upgraded to KDE 2.2? If so, did it work beforehand? 2. What happens is you click on a HTML document in your home directory tree, e.g. file:/home/tracerb/index.html? 3. Can you do the same with file:/usr/share/doc/Books/index.html? Not sure what the problem is since I'm not experiencing it. However, I'd check file permissions, your cgi-bin, Perl etc. to try and eliminate things first. M
