knode RPMs for the date overflow problem?

I've been hoping for a patch for knode which fixes the date problem. I saw the patch is out on sourceforge, but I haven't seen it packaged for SuSE. I really like to stay with the SuSE RPMs whenever possible. That way I am dealing with fewer unknowns. I believe I could crack open the SuSE RPM patch the source and rebuild it. I don't know how, and have that on my list of things to learn. I can't do that today. Is anybody from SuSE reading the list these days? Is Lenz still with SuSE? What's he doing, hanging out at the wall? {;-)>
